On April 7th, 2024, the Sankanur Institute of Nursing, in association with Sankanur Hospital and Research Centre, Gadag, celebrated International Yoga Day with the theme “Yoga for Self and Society.” Dr. Prakash Sankanur, President of the Sankanur Institute of Nursing, delivered a speech emphasizing the benefits of meditation and pranayama. He began with the quote: "Meditation and Pranayama will help students increase their focus before studying." Marking the 10th edition of International Yoga Day, which celebrates a decade of global recognition, the event was organized by the Sankanur College of Nursing and Ipca Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Prakash Sankanur led sessions on exercises for neck and back pain, as well as meditation and pranayama, encouraging everyone to incorporate these practices into their daily routine.

On April 7th, 2024, the Sankanur Institute of Nursing, in association with Sankanur Hospital and Research Centre, Gadag, celebrated World Health Day with the theme “My Health, My Right.” The ceremony began with Assistant Prof. Rashmi introducing the Chief Guest Dr. Hanamanth I. Mali, MD (Anesthesiology) and Critical Care Practitioner at CCC Gadag, while student Sangeetha served as the Master of Ceremonies. Chief Guest Dr. Mali emphasized the importance of nutritious food, regular exercise, pure air, clean water, quality healthcare facilities, and good residential environments for optimal health. He also highlighted the adverse effects of factors such as traffic congestion, water scarcity, noise pollution, and war on health, comparing them to the impact of poor-quality food. Dr. Shwetha Sankanur, the President of the program, underscored the significance of maintaining health and shared valuable tips with the nursing students. Dr. Meenakshi, the Principal, reiterated that access to healthcare facilities should be a universal right, regardless of gender, socioeconomic status, or other factors.
